Erin Riebe

Erin Riebe

Location Manager, Advance Funeral Planner, Aftercare Coordinator

Erin was born in Litchfield and grew up on a hobby farm north of town. After graduating high school in 2004, she was employed as a Mental Health Practitioner for the State of Minnesota at the Willmar Regional Treatment Center. Erin attended St. Cloud Technical College and Ridgewater Technical College. 


In 2012, Erin earned her insurance license and was employed by American Senior Benefits in Maple Grove, where she helped individuals effectively plan their retirement. Erin specialized in Medicare, life insurance, long-term care, and annuities. 


Erin joined the staff at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral & Cremation Service and Ertl Funeral Home in 2014 as an Advance Funeral Planner and Grief Care Coordinator. She enjoys educating people on the benefits of planning ahead and creating a meaningful funeral service for families. As a Grief Care Coordinator, Erin is available to provide support, as well as resources, to help families better understand the grieving process. 


In her spare time, Erin enjoys biking, traveling, going to concerts, and horseback riding. She also serves as a Litchfield Chamber Ambassador, welcoming new business to the community. Erin and her significant other, Wayne, have three children, Gabriel, Francesca, and Armando, who keep them very busy.

Steve Nelson

Steve Nelson

Licensed Funeral Director

Steve was born and raised in Litchfield. He graduated from Litchfield High School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mortuary Science from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Before joining the staff at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral and Cremation Service, and later, Ertl Funeral Home, Steve lived and worked in the Twin Cities area and northern Minnesota. He is a Certified Crematory Operator through National Funeral Directors Association. 


Steve and his wife, Michelle, live in Litchfield. A few of Steve's interests include family activities, traveling, camping, music, reading, and watching movies and sports.

Abagayle Shoutz

Office Manager

Abby was born and raised just outside of Litchfield on her family’s farm. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 2022 then attended Ridgewater College and received her Liberal Arts and Sciences Associate's Degree in December 2023. 


In high school, Abby was very active in FFA, 4-H, National Honor Society, and the community of Litchfield. She served as the Litchfield FFA chapter president for 2 years and a Region V FFA Officer for 2 years. In 2021, she was crowned one of the 2021-2022 Litchfield Princesses. 


Abby has a significant other, Lane. Together, they enjoy traveling, snowmobiling, and spending time outdoors.  She enjoys working in her hometown and helping families in the community at some of the most difficult and challenging times of their lives.


Ann Konietzko

Ann Konietzko

Ann was born in Hutchinson, MN and grew up in Brownton, Minnesota. After high school, she completed nurse's training as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at Meeker County Memorial Hospital for fifteen years and Augustana Homes for twenty-four years, with five of them in Pastoral Care. In 1999, Ann changed her career and started her work with Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home as a Prearrangement Specialist and Grief Care Coordinator, assisting families with their funeral plans and with the grieving process following funeral services. 


Ann was united in marriage to Don Konietzko in 1964 at Stewart, Minnesota. They have three children, six grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. 


She is an active member in St. Philip’s church activities, serving as a lector, Eucharistic minister, prayer shawl ministry and more. She has also been involved with various community activities and has served as an active volunteer with the Litchfield Area Hospice since 1989. In 2019, Ann was nominated as Meeker County Senior Volunteer of the Year.


Her favorite pastimes are spending time with family and friends, sewing, crocheting, playing cards and helping others, often in the form of "listening".


Don Konietzko

Don Konietzko

Support Staff

For the past eleven years, Don has served as a Funeral Assistant with Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home. He was born and raised in Litchfield and then began his career as the imaging manager at Meeker Memorial Hospital; he served in that role for forty-eight years. Now retired, he was also an active member of the area’s emergency services: the Litchfield Volunteer Fire Department, Litchfield Rescue Squad and the Ambulance Service. He served as the Meeker County Coroner for fifteen years.


Don was united in marriage to Ann in 1964. They have three children, six grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.


He is a member of St. Philip’s Catholic Church and Ducks Unlimited. In his spare time, Don enjoys waterfowl hunting and cleaning cars.
