Full History
Al Ertl built Ertl Funeral Home in 1953. His son, Tom, began working there in 1986 and purchased the business in 1997. In 2011, ownership passed to Tom Vertin, a third-generation funeral director who continues the tradition of providing compassionate, family-owned funeral care. In order to best serve the local communities, Ertl Funeral Home merged with Johnson-Hagglund Funeral & Cremation Service in Litchfield. They are proud to provide families with dignified, personalized services for all those in their care.
