Wesley W. Nelson

Wesley W. Nelson, age 71 passed away on Tuesday evening, June 22, 2021 at Willmar, Minnesota. Memorial Services will be held at 3PM on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Wesley Nelson Family Farm 20843 530th Ave., Grove City, MN. Visitation will be on Saturday from 1-3 PM also on the family farm. Interment will be at the Arndahl Cemetery rural Grove City, Minnesota Wesley Nelson was born in Litchfield, MN on October 4, 1949. He was the son of Wallace and Luella (Larson) Nelson. Wesley grew up on a farm by Grove City. He attended Grove City High school graduating in 1967. After graduating he continued farming with his father and later on his own. Wesley married Kathryn Sue Scott in 1980 at Arndahl Lutheran Church, Grove City, MN. They resided and continued farming by Grove City where Wes farmed his whole life. Wesley enjoyed many things, farming being major. He also loved hunting which he shared with his son Andrew with hunting Prairie dogs being there favorite. Checking his crops (and everyone else's), he could never drive by a field without nearly driving into the ditch from looking at all the fields. ATVing came later and he loved riding the trails throughout Minnesota, South Dakota, Wyoming, and best of all Arizona where he and Kate would spend part of their winters. Coffee and cookies with his friends and local farmers was a must. Wesley grew up with horses which he loved and showed. He passed on his love of horses to his daughter Kasey and spent many hours making sure the trailer was ready for her to take off for a show since he was her biggest fan. His love for his children was undeniable and they were the most important thing in his life. We'll alway remember his special smile and the warm embrace he always gave us and the quick, fast one liners he delivered in his soft calm voice that just made you laugh. Wisdom and wittiness best describe Wes. Wesley is survived by his wife Kate and two children, Andrew of Cosmos, MN and Kasey of Willmar, MN. He was predeceased by his parents, Wallace and Luella.
