Warren R. Brehmer

Warren ""Bud"" R. Brehmer, age 83, died on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the Ecumen of Litchfield, Emmanuel Home, Litchfield, Minnesota. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 30, 2010, at First Lutheran Church, Litchfield, MN, with Pastor Tom Evenson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home, Litchfield, MN. Interment will be at Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Warren ""Bud"" Richard Brehmer, the son of W. Eugene and Margaret (Buchanan) Brehmer, was born on May 18, 1927 in Litchfield, MN. He lived in Litchfield until 1936, and in Odin until 1939, when he moved to St. James where he attended high school, graduating in 1945. He was united in marriage to Mae Morgan in St. James, MN, on September 25, 1949 and lived in St. James until 1959 when he and Mae returned to Litchfield, MN. Bud was involved in a grocery business, was a bread route salesman, was an insurance agent, and retired in 1992 after 20 years as manager of the Litchfield Municipal Liquor Store. In his early years, he was a member of Toastmasters. He was an active member of the First Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN where he served in many capacities. He enjoyed helping with Cub Scouts, walking, biking, motorcycling, fishing, hunting, and doing crossword puzzles, but his first love was his family. He is survived by his wife Mae; sons, David (and JoLynn) Brehmer of Bloomington, MN, Darryl (and Patty) Brehmer of Rogers, MN, Danny Brehmer of Bemidji, MN and Douglas (and Karen) Brehmer of Rosemount, MN; 5 grandchildren, Collin, Christian, Michael, Adam and Caitlin; 2 step grandchildren, Christopher and Kelsey; brother, Bill (and Marilyn) Brehmer of Austin, MN; sisters, Gayle Christensen of Ashby, MN, Patricia Wick of Grove City, MN and Karen (and Bob) Swanson of Robertsdale, AL, and many nieces and nephews.
