Virgil R. Pehle, age 72, of El Paso, Texas, died on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Hutchinson Community Hospital in Hutchinson. Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City with Pastor Jean Smith officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Arndahl Cemetery.
Virgil Raymond Pehle, the son of Raymond and Eleanor (Kallevig) Pehle, was born on January 14, 1937 in Grove City, Minnesota. He grew up and received his education in Grove City graduating from the Grove City High School in 1956. He served in the United States Army for two years following high school. On October 21, 1962, Virgil was united in marriage to Annette Brown at the Arndahl Lutheran Church. They lived in Mound for twenty one years before he was transfered to El Paso in June of 1983. Virgil retired in 1997, after working for Tonka Toys for 38 years. He was a member of the Norwegian Society of Texas and the Mount Hope Lutheran Church where he was active in the Men’s Bible Study Group. He loved fishing, hunting, bowling, flea markets and had a special fondness for dogs.
Virgil is survived by his wife Annette of El Paso, TX, children Greg Pehle of El Paso, TX, Keith (Belinda) Pehle of El Paso, TX, Barbara (Dean) Haage of Dallas, TX, grandchildren Nikki and Kenneth Pehle, sister-in-law Carolyn Pehle of Litchfield, MN. Preceded in death by his parents and brother Burtian Pehle.
