Viola Margaret Miller

Viola M. Miller, age 104, died on June 10, 2018 at the Lakeside Care Center in Dassel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, June 17th at the church with a parish prayer service at 4:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Honors will be provided by the Litchfield VFW Auxiliary. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the charity of your choice. Viola Margaret Dockendorf, the daughter of Math and Christina (Oster) Dockendorf, was born on August 24, 1913 on a farm near Eden Valley. She grew up on the family farm and received her education in the Eden Valley Area. She was baptized at Assumption Catholic Church and was a lifelong dedicated Catholic. On July 1, 1946, she was married to Edward P. Miller and they made their home in Litchfield. On March 13, 1979 Ed passed away and Viola remained in the same house until October of 2006 when she needed help with her care. In June of 2017, she moved to the Dassel Lakeside Care Center where she was well cared for until her death. She enjoyed baking, playing cards, bus tours, gardening and taking walks. She is survived by her children Marvin (and Irene) Miller of Litchfield, Donald Miller of Litchfield Sharon Miller of Willmar and Norman Miller of Willmar; grandchildren Charlie Miller of Sioux City, Tim (and Julie) Miller of St. Cloud, Daniel (and Shannon) Miller of Cold Spring and Bill Miller of Litchfield. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Justin Miller, Emmitt Miller, Leo Miller, Blake Miller, Cameron Miller, Bryant McClellan, and Katelynn Mehr; great-great grandchildren Sawyer and Wrenly Gamble; brother Mike Dockendorf of Eden Valley and sister-in-law Elaine Dockendorf of Cold Spring. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Albert Neis, Alex, Gilbert, Lawrence, John and Leo Dockendorf, sisters Olivia Gruenes, Elizabeth Bokovoy, and Millie Garvey.
