Vergie S. Daniski

Vergie S. Daniski, age 94, of Litchfield died on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 16, 2013, at the First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery in Maplewood, MN, on Monday at 3:30 PM. Vergie Saphire Daniski, the daughter of Riley and Hilda (Hanson) Miller, was born on September 9, 1919, in Browns Valley, Minnesota. She grew up in Browns Valley and received her education there. In 1938 she was married to Frank Rockenback in St. Paul, MN. She later married Alex Daniski in 1942, in St. Paul, MN, where she worked as a waitress, a hostess, and bookkeeper. She moved to Litchfield in 2008 and was a member of First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed baking, cooking, teaching ceramics, porcelain art and spending her time with family and friends. Vergie is survived by her children, Mike (and Judy) Rockenback of Hollister, MO, Donald Daniski of North Branch, MN, Alexis (and Gary) Cumings of Litchfield, MN; grandchildren, Desirae Daniski Petersen, Joe Daniski, Lisa Rockenback, Greg Rockenback, Mike Cumings, Peter Cumings and Paul Cumings; great grandchildren, Chloe Petersen, Sophia Petersen, Claire Daniski, Zoe Cumings, Leo Cumings, and 3 more on the way; brother, Donald Miller of Browns Valley, MN; and sister, Emily Schlapkohl of Miranda, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Daniski; parents, Riley and Hilda Miller; brothers, Ward and Gordon Miller; sisters, Norma Jensen, Thelma Conrey, Faith Dougherty; and daughter-in-law, Diane Daniski.
