Todd Stern

Todd R. Stern, age 52, of Grove City, MN died unexpectedly at home on Monday June 16, 2014. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. A visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held in Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Todd Randal Stern, the son of Verl and Marlene (Curtiss) Stern, was born on February 20, 1962 in Litchfield, MN. He was baptized at First Presbyterian Church in Litchfield and confirmed at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Darwin. He graduated from Litchfield High School in 1981 and was united in marriage to Julie Brouwer in Litchfield at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on November 15, 1986. Todd started farming right out of high school south of Litchfield and later moved to a farm south of Grove City. He had livestock and did custom round bailing and also had many different jobs over the years working at HTI in Hutchinson, Custom Products in Litchfield, the Atfield Feed Mill in Atwater and milking for Becker Dairy. He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Darwin. Todd was talented at inventing new products, if you could think it, he could make it. He enjoyed being able to work and spend time outdoors and keeping in touch with his family and friends. He also enjoyed his daily dose of Mountain Dew and chocolate. He was a jack-of-all trades, enjoyed busy work and if you ever needed a helping hand he was there to lend it. Todd's legacy of giving continues even after his death as he was a donor and gave the gift of life to others. Todd is survived by his wife Julie Stern of Grove City, MN; daughter Tracy (Carl) Denfeld of Litchfield; son Kevin Stern of Grove City; mother Marlene Radunz of Darwin, MN; sister-in-law Cyndi (Mark) Linder of Litchfield, MN; sister Kathy (Steve) Coughlin of Boyds, MD; half-brother Eric (Erin) Radunz of Rogers, MN; God-Children, Becky Smith, Michael Nething, Michael Coughlin, Alycia Rohrbeck and Kira Radunz; mother-in-law Alvina Brouwer and friend Duane Lhotka of Litchfield, MN; sister-in-laws Mary (Charles) Nething of Grove City, Jennifer (Chris) Madsen of Darwin, MN, Melanie (Joe) Kottke of Litchfield, MN; grandmother-in-law Rose Brouwer Baker of Willmar, MN; his right-hand man Leon Fischer who he worked with, and many family and friends. Todd was preceded in death by his father Verl Stern; brothers Michael and Dennis Stern; step-father Stanley Radunz; father-in-law Alan Brouwer; nephew Charles Nething Jr.; and his grandparents.
