Thomas P. Moyer, age 78 of Watkins, MN passed away on Tuesday October 23, 2018 at his home in Watkins, MN following a two-year battle with cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday October 29, 2018 at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Sunday October 28 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral and Cremation Service with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service.
Thomas Peter Moyer was born at Litchfield hospital October 16, 1940 to Hazel (Pennertz) Moyer and Calvin Moyer. Thomas grew up north of Darwin then later moved to north of Forest City. Thomas married Marie Sinnett on September 10, 1960. They purchased their first farm in 1965 and in 1969 moved to the Stenger homestead, south of Watkins.
Thomas spent his life as a farmer and construction worker. He was a member of Local 49ers and a life time member of St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Forest City. He enjoyed working with all kinds of animals; milking cows, raising horses, buffalo and ostriches. Thomas liked spending time on the farm with family and friends, plowing and time spent in the field. Thomas enjoyed long car rides to look at the fields and check on the crops. Later in life, he would take trips to Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and especially enjoyed the time they spent in Branson, Missouri.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Marie of 58 years, daughters; Darlene Moyer of Maple Grove, Jan and (Randy) Shoutz of Maple Grove, Colleen Moyer and fiance Tim Bickerstaff of Paynesville, foster son Joseph and (Kim) Tousignant of Hankinson N.D.
Grandchildren; Diana and (Jeremy) Donnay, Amanda and (Kevin) Nething, Ashley and (Joe) Weckwerth, Kirsten Tousignant, Nicole, Jacob and Katlin Bennett. Great grandchildren Haylee and Joshua Donnay and Esmae Rose and Arabella Bennett.
