Thelma J. Decker, age 83, of Litchfield, died early morning Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the Ecumen Emmanuel Home in Litchfield. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 8, at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral home and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Thelma Joy Decker, the daughter of Hans and Julia (Kleven) Hagen, was born with a twin brother Roy on July 27, 1932, in Crosby, ND. She grew up in Park Rapids and attended school there. On June 17, 1949 she was united in marriage to Rollan ""Bud"" Decker in Park Rapids and settled in the Osage area until moving to Chisholm where they lived for a few years before moving to Litchfield in 1959. When Bud retired they moved back to Park Rapids and built a home. Five years later Bud was diagnosed with cancer and they returned to Litchfield. Thelma enjoyed being a homemaker and was a great cook. She was a gracious host and along with raising her own children, welcomed many extended family and friends into their home. She worked in house keeping at local hotels, was a nurse's aid at the Bethany Home and loved her 'retirement job' at Rich's Antiques in Park Rapids. Thelma was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and was part of the Vesper's Guild. She belonged to the VFW Auxiliary. Thelma enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and crossword puzzles. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She is survived by her children Terry Decker, Doug (and Nancy) Decker, Curt (and Angela) Decker all of Litchfield, Rachelle (and Randy) Andreen of Sauk Rapids, and Heidi (and Tim) Lambertson of Ottertail. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; siblings Milo Hagen of Hemet, CA, Stanley (and Evelyn) Hagen of Park Rapids, Willy (and Cindy) Hagen of Braham, Luella Schneider of Colorado, Delores Holweg of Park Rapids, Janice (and Dan) Engelen of Bemidji, and Eva Hagen of Park Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband Rollan ""Bud"" Decker; parents, Hans and Julia, step-mother Blanche, daughter Melodee, siblings Floyd, Harry, Duane, Elmer, Johnny, Charlie, Evelyn Christenson, Josie Baer, Verna Ronnebaum and twin brother Roy at birth.
