Stanley P. Tacheny

Stanley P. Tacheny, age 81, of Litchfield died on September 7, 2010 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield, MN, with Father Joseph Steinbeisser officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Church of St. Philip with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Interment will be held at St. Gertrude's Catholic Cemetery, Forest City, MN. Military honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Stanley Peter Tacheny was born on December 7, 1928 in Mankato, MN to Joseph and Grace (Vigue) Tacheny. He was baptized on December 16, 1928 at St. Peter and Paul's Church. Stan attended school in New Ulm and Litchfield MN. He entered in the U.S. Army, serving in WWII and Korea. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Flynn on June 11, 1957 at the Church of St. Gertrude's in Forest City, MN. Stan owned and operated Tacheny Refrigeration for many years, was an over the road truck driver and retired after working for the MN Highway Department. He was a member of the Church of St. Philip and a life member of the Admiral Benson V.F.W. Post #2818, where he was past Commander in 1976. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, cooking, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Stanley is survived by his wife Dorothy of Litchfield, MN; children, Colleen (and Don) Kotila of Litchfield, MN, Greg (and Becky) Tacheny of Lakeville, MN, Patrice (and Tsuneo) Imai of Port Washington, NY, Lisa (and Chris) Andrews of Delano, MN, Mark (and Darcy) Tacheny of New Prague, MN, Jacqueline (and Ernie) Defries of Litchfield, MN, Timothy (and Shannon) Tacheny of St. Paul, MN and Monique (and Mike) Berg of Farmington, MN; grandchildren, Kristin (and Jeremiah), Michael (and Sarah), Joseph, Travis, Kelly, John, Airi, Ryo, Eri, Valerie (and John), Jill (and Doug), David, Jessica (and Tyler), Jillian, Justin, Jacob, Nick, Carissa, Riley, Matthew, Emma, Delia, Hunter, Allen, and Daniel; great grandchildren, Kali, Achillez, Xyla, Wyatt and Cody; siblings, Robert (Sylvia) Tacheny; James (Joanne) Tacheny; Victor (Janice) Tacheny; Carol (Raymond) Mueller; and Joseph (Ann) Tacheny; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Sgt.
