Stanley Radunz

Stanley O. Radunz, of Darwin, MN, passed away October 4, 2012 at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield, MN at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 25 days. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 8, 2012 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN with Pastor Tim Redfield officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Monday. Interment will be held at Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Pallbearers will be Jerry Lindell, Blake Ratike, Dale Heinrichs, John Smith, John Curtiss and Jim Schlueter. Stanley Otto August Radunz was born on December 9, 1934 in Ellsworth Township, Meeker County to Edward and Mabel (Smith) Radunz. He was baptized on January 13, 1935 and confirmed on June 22, 1947 at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in Ellsworth Township. He graduated from Litchfield High School in 1953. On December 9, 1973, Stanley was united in marriage to Marlene Curtiss Stern. They farmed in Ellsworth Township. They had been married 38 years and 9 months. Stanley was very active in his younger years. He played softball and enjoyed bowling for many years. He was on the Township board for 18 years. He served as the President, Elder and Financial Secretary at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church where he had been a member all his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren and family gatherings. He is survived by his wife Marlene Radunz; his daughter Kathleen Coughlin and her husband Stephen Coughlin; sons Todd Stern and his wife Julie Stern, Eric Radunz and his wife Erin Radunz; grandchildren, Rhett and Heidi Lundgren, Rebecca Smith, Tiah Stern, Michael and Elizabeth Coughlin, Tracy and Carl Denfeld, Kevin Stern, Kira and Vaughn Radunz; great grandchildren, Skye and Kael Smith and Jadeylynn Lundgren. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
