Stanley Melvin Anderson

Stanley M. Anderson, age 62, of Litchfield, MN died on Sunday June 1, 2014 at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Litchfield Christian Church in Litchfield, MN. A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held in Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Stanley Melvin Anderson, the son of Ray and Lucille (Holmes) Anderson was born in Litchfield, MN on April 4, 1952. He graduated from Litchfield High School in 1970 and continued his education at the University of Minnesota. He worked at Custom Products. Stanley served in the US Air Force for 4 years. He tended bar in Grand Forks, ND, worked as a cook at a restaurant and also worked in construction. When he moved back to Litchfield he was a familiar face at the American Legion and you might find him on either side of the bar. He managed the Darwin Liquor Store for a few years and was computer technician in Grove City and Manannah. He was on the swim team in high school, a dart league, and he enjoyed fishing, water skiing, working on cars and spending time with family. He is survived by his brother Steve (and Barb) Anderson of Savage, MN; sister Barb (and Tony) Eull of Paynesville, MN; nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
