Shirley Ann Hegg

Shirley A. Hegg, age 75, of Grove City died at her home on Friday, May 22, 2015. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Grove City. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 26th at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place in the Manannah Union Cemetery at a later time. Shirley Ann Hegg, the daughter of Emil and Fern (Williams) Erickson, was born on November 18, 1939, in Swede Grove Township, Meeker County. She grew up in Swede Grove Township and graduated from the Grove City High School in 1957. On October 4, 1958, she was united in marriage to Douglas Hegg at the First Baptist Church in Grove City. They made their home north of Grove City on Wilcox Lake. Shirley was a homemaker, seamstress and mowed the Manannah church and cemetery lawn. Spring was her favorite time of the year. She enjoyed nature; watching birds, gardening and flowers. Shirley also enjoyed sewing and canning; earning several ribbons at the Meeker County Fair. She is survived by her husband, Douglas of Grove City; children, Vicky (and Loren) Pearson of Paynesville, Rick (and Lisa) Hegg of Grove City, Nancy (and Brenden) Selk of Farmington; grandchildren, Steve (and Erin) Pearson, Daniel (and Ashley) Pearson, Derick Hegg, Dena Hegg Ariel Hageman and Colby Selk. She is also survived by her siblings, Betty Olson of Grove City, Donald (and Anna) Erickson of New Brighton, Gordon (and Janet) Erickson of Rochester, NY, Carol (and Bill) Ledbetter of Tupelo, MS; and sister-in-law, Marian Erickson. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Roger Erickson, sister, Janet Erickson and brother-in-law, Ivan Olson.
