Sharon Ann Shoutz, the daughter of Edwin and Katherine (Horwath) Rohrbeck, was born on February 5, 1941, on the family farm in Forest Prairie Township, Meeker County, Minnesota. She grew up in Forest Prairie Township and attended country school there until her family moved to Minneapolis. After a short time in Minneapolis her family move to the Forest City area and bought the Forest City Store. On September 7, 1957, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Shoutz at the St. Gertrude's Catholic Church in Forest City; a marriage that would last for 56 years. They moved to Darwin for about a year and then moved to a home they built north of Forest City. They later moved to the farm where she lived the rest of her life. She was member of the St. Gertrude's Catholic church, a snow mobile club and a neighborhood card club. In her early years she enjoyed the out doors through camping, fishing, and trapping with Lloyd.
