Sandra C. (Vossen) Strom, age 70, of Atwater, formerly of Litchfield, died Tuesday, January 14th at the Carris Hospital in Willmar following an extended illness. Mass of Christian Burial memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 25 at the Church of St. Phillip in Litchfield. Friends may call from 5-7 PM Friday at the church with a Parish Prayer Service at 5 PM Friday at the church. Visitation will continue 1 hour prior the service on Saturday. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Sandra Catherine Strom was born on March 6, 1949 in Willmar, Minnesota the daughter of June (Barrusten) and Louis Vossen. She grew up in the Litchfield area and received her education in the Litchfield school. After high school she work at 3M for a time before her marriage to Jim Molinaro. They moved to New York and to this union was born 4 children. While in New York Sandy worked for a dental office for 12 years before moving back to the Willmar area. On December 26, 1986, Sandy was married to Roger Strom in Litchfield and made their home in Litchfield. She worked for Hutchinson Technology for a few years and later at the Waverly Treatment Center in Waverly until her retirement due to her health. They moved to Atwater in 2010 where they have resided since. Sandy enjoyed baking, sewing, dart tournaments, fishing, dancing and most of all being with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Roger of Atwater, six children, Christina (and Steve) Mlodzik of Cosmos, James (and Jessica) Molinaro of Cosmos, Angie Molinaro of New York, Greg Molinaro of Colorado, Jason (and Laura) Riley of Maryland and Justin (and Kelli) Riley of Virginia, 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Pat (and Mike) Dilley of Litchfield and Debra (and James) Powers of Mound. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and June Vossen, two brothers Jack Vossen and Bob Vossen, one nephew Jeremy Vossen, her in-laws Harold and Jeannet Strom and sister-in-law Lois Bacon.
