Ruth A. Marquardt, age 86, of Litchfield, MN, died on Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Ecumen Bethany Assisted Living in Litchfield, MN. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 6, 2013 at St. Matthews United Church of Christ in Forest City, MN with Pastor Jeanne Bringgold-Pro officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 7:00 PM on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home with a 6:30 prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Monday. Interment will be held at Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Memorials are preferred to St. Matthews United Church of Christ. Ruth Ann Marquardt, the daughter of Walter and Laura (Rosenow) Kuehl was born on April 29, 1927 in Meeker County, MN. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1944. Ruth was united in marriage to Julius ""Bud"" Marquardt on October 10, 1944 in Forest City, MN. Throughout her life, Ruth lived in Harvey Township, Forest City and Litchfield. She was the bookkeeper for the Ford dealers in Litchfield and Cokato. She was a member of the St. Matthews United Church of Christ, where she was a Sunday School teacher, in the choir and active in Women's Fellowship. She enjoyed music, and was the church organist for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed watching the MN Twins and Vikings. Ruth and Bud were fortunate to have tickets for the MN Twins World Series games in 1991. She took pride in attending her grandchildren's athletic events and bowled for 40 years, taking many bowling trips all over the U.S. for tournaments with the V.F.W., American Legion and mixed doubles. Ruth was community oriented, faith based and loved spending time with her family. She embroidered many baby quilts and will be remembered for her rice pudding and chocolate chip cookies. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Carol (and Hugh) Wagner of Watkins, MN and Darlene (and Bob) Wendroth of Litchfield, MN; daughter-in-law Diane Marquardt of Plymouth, MN; grandchildren, Corey (Jana) Wagner, Hayfield, Wendy Wagner Foley, Litchfield, Derrick (and fiancee Lori Athmann) Wagner, Watkins, Angela (David) Wagner Dietel, Darwin, Kim (Matt) Wendroth Farage, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Kelly (David) Wendroth Lukason, Sartell, Jay (Jennie) Marquardt, Fridley, and Tracy (Jason) Marquardt Keech, St. Francis, Jennie (Chad) Voelz of Litchfield; 24 great grandchildren, Darin Wagner, Laura Wagner, Dillon Wagner, Danielle Wagner, Samantha Scofield, Alec Scofield, Joseph Scofield, Dean Foley, Rachel Foley, Kristin Foley, Logan Wagner, Jadalyn Wagner, Landon Wagner, Abby Athmann, Dominic Dietel, Jacob Dietel, Noah Dietel, Carly Wagner, Katie Voelz, Amanda Marquardt, Alissa Marquardt, Aundreya Marquardt, Connor Keech and Madelyn Keech; 2 great great grandchildren, Kaiden Wagner and Brooklyn Wagner; sisters Dolores (Wally) Willette of Litchfield, MN, Alice Reilein of Litchfield, MN, Jeanette Byrne of Leesburg, VA, Diane (Willard) Maahs of Litchfield, MN, and Bonnie Revering of Arizona.
