Ruth Carolyn Idell Johnson

Ruth Carolyn Idell Johnson, age 85, of Grove City, MN, passed away on Saturday March 29, 2014 at the Ecumen Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, MN. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday April 3, 2014 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City, MN with a visitation from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be held in First Lutheran Cemetery, Grove City, MN. Ruth Carolyn Idell Nelson Johnson was born August 9, 1928 to Adolph and Anna (Winquist) Nelson. After her mother's passing, Ruth and her sister, Eva, went to live with and were raised by her aunt and uncle, Hannah and Axel Nelson. Ruth was baptized, confirmed, and married all at First Lutheran of Grove City, which is now Trinity. She graduated from Grove City High School in 1946, and was united in marriage to Harlan Johnson in August, 1949. Ruth was a very active member of Trinity. She was involved in WELCA, enjoyed quilting, adult Bible studies, and was a member of the church choir. She was also very involved with the Grove City Historical Society. She loved being on the farm, gardening and planting beautiful flower gardens. She especially loved her family and enjoyed the holiday gatherings, and the ""just 'cuz'"" visits. Ruth is survived by her daughter Diane (Greg) Konietzko of Litchfield; son James of Grove City; daughter-in-law Janet Johnson of Grove City; grandchildren, Jessica (Jay) Docken, Nicholas (Elizabeth) Konietzko, Christopher Johnson, Fallon Johnson, Matthew (Michelle) Johnson, Elizabeth Miller, Charles (Ann) Johnson, Katherine Johnson and Theresa Johnson; great grandchildren, Morgan Johnson, Blake Johnson, Cameron Miller, Thomas Johnson, Henry Johnson and Ava Konietzko; brother Oscar Nelson; brother-in-law Bill (Jackie) Johnson; sister-in-law Elsie Johnson, and many nieces and nephews.
