Ruby Mildred Gabrielson, the daughter of Magnus and Lisa (Hemmingson) Oberg, was born on June 12, 1916 in rural Dassel, MN. She graduated from Dassel High School and attended Northwestern Bible College in St. Paul, MN. She worked for Meeker County in the assessor’s office. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church in Litchfield, MN. She was united in marriage to Virgil Gabrielson on June 27, 1947 in Litchfield, MN. Their marriage was blessed with four children.
Ruby spent her life attending to her family and her faith. She taught each of her grandchildren how to play kickball, hide the thimble, and how to bake chocolate chip cookies. There was always time to play a game of Uno, Sorry or a modified version of Trivial Pursuit. She also took time to share her faith and tried to help guide all of her loved ones to a good path in this world. She was easy to talk with and always had time for a cup of coffee and a visit. She will be remembered for her faith, her love and kindness, her wit and humor, and of course, her cookies.
Ruby is survived by her daughter; Connie (and Warren) Johnson of Champlin, MN, sons; Paul (and Michelle) Gabrielson of Litchfield, MN, Donald (and Sandy) Gabrielson of Litchfield, MN and John (and Cher) Gabrielson of Litchfield, MN, grandchildren; Chad (and Kim) Johnson, Sean (and Gina) Johnson, Kris (and Lynn) Johnson, Sarah (and Kyle) Lenzen, Bridget (and Russell) Nurkkala, Michael (and Aimee) Gabrielson, Lisa (and Wayne) Skinner, Todd (and Jessicah) Gabrielson, Jacob, Nicholas, and Gina Gabrielson, Justin Gabrielson, Jennifer (and Chad) Steinhaus, and Matthew Gabrielson, 15 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
