Roselyn E. Sullivan

Roselyn E. Sullivan, age 97, of Litchfield, MN, passed away on Monday, July, 22 2013 at the Ecumen Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Rosendale Methodist Church in Rosendale, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Rosendale Methodist Church Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Alzheimer's Research. Roselyn Emma Sullivan was born on May 25, 1916 to Emmanuel and Margaret Jackson in Lake Elizabeth Township, MN. She was baptized, confirmed and was a lifelong member of the Rosendale Methodist Church. She married Robert Paulsen in 1936 in Maple Plain, MN. To this union, a daughter Marlene was born. It was about this time Roselyn's grandparents decided to retire from farming and moved to Litchfield. They sold the farm to the government so Robert and Roselyn could buy it. Roselyn's best memories are of working to payoff the farm, selling their eggs and doing business daily in Rosendale. Robert passed away in 1966 so she moved in with her daughter who taught school in Rochester. When Marlene got married in 1973, Roselyn bought a home in Grove City, MN, where she could be close to her mother Margaret and other family members. In 1980, she married George Sullivan. They resided in her home in Grove City until his death in 2008. At that time she decided to move to Emmaus Place in Litchfield, MN. She has kept a diary since 1935. Roselyn is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Marlene (and Merlin) Wallin of Litchfield, MN, 1 sister; Gerri Anderson of Florida and many nieces and nephews.
