Rose Nistler

February 26, 1934 — October 13, 2024

Rose Nistler, age 90 of Watkins, MN, passed away peacefully at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins, MN. On 13th of October, she joined the love of her life, her husband Joe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 19th ,2024 at the Church of St. Anthony in Watkins, MN. A visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Friday, October 18, 2024 at St. Anthony’s Parish Hall with a Prayer Service starting at 6PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery following the service.

Rose lived a life filled with love, kindness, and grace. She touched the lives of many with her warmth and generosity, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and goodwill. Her presence will be deeply missed by many.

Rose was born on February 26,1934, to John and Gertrude (Binsfeld) Stein in St. Nicholas, MN. She graduated from Eden Valley High School in 1952. On December 27, 1954, Rose was united in marriage to Joseph Nistler at the Church of St. Nicholas. The couple was blessed with twelve children: Joseph Jr., John, Laura, James, Nancy, Stephen, Mark, Linda, Lisa, Peter, Rose, and Roger. Aside from being a great mom, loving wife, caring grandma and great grandma, Rose was very active in the community. She was a member of St. Anthony Church, Watkins Legion Auxiliary, and Watkins Lioness. Rose enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, gardening, quilting, playing bingo, and going to a casino. Above all, Rose treasured spending time with her loved ones. Her strong commitment to her faith, family, and friends never wavered, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. 

Left to cherish Rose’s memory are her children, Joseph (Pat), John (Pam), Laura (Mike), James (Kay), Nancy, Stephen (Lori), Linda (Alan), Lisa, Peter, Rose (Dennis), and Roger; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and sisters, Isabelle and Judy.

Preceding Rose in death were husband Joseph, her son, Mark, her son-in-law, Allen, and her parents; her brothers, Ralph and Eugene; and sisters, Cele, Caroline, and Susie.
