Ronald Rieck

Ronald L. Rieck Jr., age 40, of Atwater, MN, formerly of Litchfield and Willmar, died on Saturday, November 28, 2009, in Willmar, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield with Father Joseph Steinbeisser officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday, with a Knights of Columbus Rosary prior to the service. Ronald Lawrence Rieck Jr., the son of Ronald Rieck and Eileen (Gefre, Rieck) Kenny, was born on January 17, 1969 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. At age 18 he moved to Willmar where he lived with his brother Robert, before moving to Litchfield where he lived for 14 years. In 1997 he married Hope Heacock in Litchfield. He later moved to Atwater where he currently resided. Ron owned and operated a cleaning service that served the Litchfield area and was a member of the Church of St. Philip and the Knights of Columbus. Ron will be remembered as an entrepreneur with many good ideas throughout his life. He had a helpful and thankful personality and was a talented artist who enjoyed sketching and drawing. He also enjoyed watching the MN Vikings and NASCAR, playing pool and Texas hold-em poker, throwing darts, listening to music, being outdoors, going camping, campfires, playing the drums and collecting NASCAR items. He loved spending time with his boys who were his life. Ron is survived by his children Tyler and Trevor Rieck of Litchfield, MN; parents Ron Rieck and Eileen (Gefre, Rieck) Kenny of Aberdeen, SD; brothers Robert (and Cozanne) Rieck of Willmar, MN, Dustin Kimball of Kerkhoven, MN, Justin (and Karen) Rieck of Sioux Falls, SD, and Christopher Rieck of Aberdeen, SD; a sister Amy Rieck of Brookings, SD; grandmother Marie Rieck of Pierre, SD; former wife Hope Rieck of Litchfield, MN; special friend Betsy Bjur of Willmar; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Rudolph Rieck and grandparents Lawrence and Caroline Gefre.
