Roger L. Henschke, age 69, of Litchfield died at his home on Lake Minnie Belle on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 doing what he loved best, preparing to go fishing when he suffered a massive heart attack. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 10th, at the Cornerstone Church with Pastor Jeff Garland officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday January 9, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Roger Lee Henschke was born May 19, 1941 to Everett and Bernice (Ebent) Henschke in Hutchinson. He attended and graduated from Buffalo Lake High School in 1959. On August 27, 1961, he was united in marriage to Adrianne Kottke. Roger owned and operated Anderson Wood Craft in Litchfield for many years. Many homes in Litchfield show evidence of the fine craftsmanship. Roger loved the outdoors and spent many hours watching the birds at the feeder outside the dining room window. Roger and Adrianne spent many hours driving though the Meeker County countryside observing nature. Roger could be overheard many days checking with fishing buddies on the local fishing report. Roger had is own ""Hotline"". He spent his last earthly days ""window fishing"" with a friend, checking ice conditions and determining the probability of a good spot to put that ""wheel house"". There were plans to get the ""wheel house"" out on January 5th, but it was not to be. God had other plans for this man of nature. Roger's grandchildren, Gillian, Rachel and William, were his pride and joy. His last visit with them was spent picking and eating blueberries and piling the kids on the ""buggy"" and going to the local fishing spot. It was hard to determine who had more fun. He enjoyed the visits with the grandkids as they spent many hours on the dock together. Roger also enjoyed weekly breakfast outings at Parkview, visiting with friends, gardening and just being outdoors.
Roger is survived by his wife Adrianne of Lake Minnie Belle, daughter Michelle (and Bill) McGirr of Henniker, NH and grandchildren, Gillian, Rachel and William McGirr. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and father-in-law. Previous Events
