Roberta Kargas

Roberta J. Kargas, age 85 of Litchfield, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Meeker Manor Rehabilitation Center in Litchfield. A memorial service for Roberta will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 5, 2024 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Ripley Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed at www.johnsonhagglund.com

Roberta June Kargas, the daughter of Ormand W. and Patricia J. (Gould) Raiber, was born in Glencoe, MN on June 2, 1939. She was united in marriage to James Kargas on July 10, 1956 in Detroit Lakes, MN. She grew up in Glencoe and lived in Litchfield and Tucson, AZ. In her younger days, she performed in her grandfathers circus and later in life she was a restaurant manager for many years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, making clothes, playing bingo, being outdoors in the sun and spending time with her family and dogs.

Roberta is survived by her children Scott (Nancy) Kargas, Barry (Karrie) Kargas, David Kargas and Nikki Kargas; 14 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother Ormand (Mary) Raiber, sister Renee (Rodney) Hjelmeland and sister in law Barbara Raiber. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Jim; parents Ormand and Patricia; brother Patrick; granddaughter Danielle; and great grandson Ryan.
