Robert J. Polingo

Robert J Polingo age 83, of Litchfield died on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at St. Cloud Hospital. Visitation and viewing will be at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 5th with a parish prayer service at 7:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Church of St. Philip with a visitation and viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Litchfield. Robert Joseph Polingo, the son of Frank and Mathilda (Mallok) Polingo, was born on October 13, 1934 in Waverly, MN. He grew up in Waverly and attended St. Mary’s Catholic High school. Robert married Sharon Wimmer on June 22, 1957 at St. Philip Catholic Church in Litchfield, MN. They lived and worked on a farm in Waverly until they moved to Litchfield in 1962. This is where they raised their family and made their home. He loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed camping, fishing and going for long drives. He is survived by his wife Sharon Polingo of Litchfield, children George (and Margie) Polingo of Litchfield, Peg Polingo of Litchfield, Jim Polingo of St. Louis Park, Peter (and Lynn) Polingo of Chanhassen, Rob (and Jen) Polingo of Belle Plaine, grandchildren Joey (and Amanda) Polingo of Rockville, Jacob Polingo (and fiance Jodi Haring) of Hopkins, Josh Polingo of Norwood Young America, Tori, Christopher and Elisabeth Polingo of Chanhassen, Michael Polingo of Belle Plaine, great-grandchildren Savannah and Brennah Polingo of Rockville and niece, nephews and friends Robert is preceded in death by his son, Dennis Polingo, his parents, Frank and Mathilda Polingo and sister, Veronica Braunwarth. He will be loved and missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
