Robert ""Bob"" Loew

Robert “Bob” E. Loew, age 65, died at his home in Litchfield, MN on March 24, 2010. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield with Father Joseph Steinbeiesser as celebrant. Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Robert “Bob” Edwin Loew the son of Raymond and Zoa (LaMott) Loew was born on March 13, 1945 in Winsted, Minnesota. He received his education at the Holy Trinity and Howard Lake High Schools. Bob enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on October 31, 1970. He was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Kegler on October 30, 1965 at Holy Trinity Church in Winsted, MN. Together they made their home in Winsted, Watertown and Litchfield. While living in Watertown, Bob co-owned an auto body and service center and later owned and operated Bob’s Auto Repair. When Bob moved to Litchfield he worked at Woolen Mills and IRD, before opening Loew’s Cycle and Recreation. He was a member at the Church of St. Philip. Bob’s many interests included spending time outdoors, fishing, camping, drag racing, gardening, collecting large and heavy equipment and watching and feeding his birds. His most enjoyable times were spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved to play all sorts of games which included playing dice and darts. Bob is survived by his wife Mary Ellen Loew of Litchfield, MN; children Lisa (and Jim) Turck of Litchfield, MN and Lee (and Chris) Loew of Litchfield, MN; 5 grandchildren Raymond Loew, Jennifer Turck, Erik Loew, Amanda Turck and Rachel Turck, all of Litchfield, MN; mother Zoa Fasching of Winsted, MN; sisters Beatrice (and Doug) Rhode of Emily, MN, Betty Kern of Cokato, MN, and Peggy (and Tony) Lachermeier of Waverly, MN; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Virgil (and Mavis) Kegler of Lester Prairie, MN and Delores Kegler of Roseville, MN. He is preceded in death by his father Raymond Loew; brother Thomas Loew; niece Dawn Loew; father-in-law and mother-in-law Ed (and Emily) Kegler; stepfather Lanny Fasching; and brothers-in-law Darrel Kegler and Francis Kegler.
