Robert 'Bob' R. Bacon

Robert R. ""Bob"" Bacon, age 71, of Litchfield, MN, died on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at his home in Litchfield, MN. Funeral Services and Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the Church of Saint Gertrude in Forest City, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Friday, December 16, 2011 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home, Litchfield, MN with prayers at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be held at Ness Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Military honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Robert Roepke ""Bob"" Bacon, the son of Walter and Lydia (Roepke) Bacon, was born on September 8, 1940 in Hutchinson, MN. Bob was baptized and confirmed at the First Congregational United Church of Christ and received his education in Hutchinson, MN. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1958, serving until 1961. He was united in marriage to Mary M. Young on September 21, 1968 at the Church of Saint Gertrude in Forest City, MN. Bob was a computer manufacturing supervisor for Unisys for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to auctions and antique shops and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Navy Club and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife Mary of Litchfield, MN; daughter Brenda (and David) Simons of Otsego, MN, grandchildren, Catherine and William of Otsego, MN; brother David of Litchfield, MN and nieces and nephews.
