Robert Charles Almgren

Robert ""Bob"" Almgren, age 60, of Litchfield died on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield with Father Joseph Steinbeisser officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 30th at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will resume on Thursday one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Litchfield. Robert Charles ""Bob"" Almgren, the son of Fred B. and Louise (Hughes) Almgren, was born on February 21, 1951, in Litchfield Minnesota. He grew up in Litchfield and graduated from Litchfield Public High School in 1969. He moved to Minneapolis and worked for a short period before returning to Litchfield. He worked various jobs in Litchfield and was the primary care giver to his mother in the last years of her life. Bob was a member of St. Philip's Catholic Church. He will be remembered as a good and friendly person. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, throwing horseshoes, riding his bicycle and going for walks. Bob is survived by his brother, Fred (and Karen) Almgren, Jr. of Bloomer, WI, sister, Mary Lou Almgren on San Diego, CA and half-sister Beverly Neuman of Hamm Lake, Minnesota. He is also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gary, step-sisters Joyce Peterson and Jean Danielson.
