Rita Ann Levinski

Rita A. Levinski, age 83, of Darwin died on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the Dassel Lakeside Care Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 20, 2012 at the St. John's Catholic Church in Darwin. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 19th at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral; parish prayer service with CCW rosary at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Rita Ann Levinski, the daughter of Victor and Rose (Vacek) LaPlante, was born on November 13, 1928, in Litchfield. She grew up and attended school in Litchfield graduating from Litchfield High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to Burt Levinski in September of 1949. They made there home in rural Darwin where they farmed. She was an active member at St. John's and belonged to the CCW and Daughters of Isabella. Rita thoroughly enjoyed being a home maker. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, and sewing. She was part of the Litchfield Quilters Club. Most important to Rita was her family, her faith and her church. She is survived by her children, Joe (and Joann) Levinski of Homedale, ID, Jim (and Kate) Levinski of Darwin, John (and Lois) Levinski of Meridian, ID, Mary (and Pat) Wisdorf of West Pueblo, CO, Greg (and Pat) Levinski of Southaven, Pete (and Denise) Levinski of Litchfield, Michelle (and Mark) Fichtinger of Glenside, PA, Martha Levinski on mission, Steve (and Mary) Levinski of Darwin, Andy (and Kim) Levinski of Dassel and Sarah Levine (and Bill Merrill) of San Diego, CA, 33 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Harold (and Mary Lou) LaPlante of Duluth, James LaPlante of Litchfield, Dale (and Helen) LaPlante of Litchfield, sister, Mary Jo (and Wes) Edwards of Litchfield, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Burt, daughter Monica, brother Austin and sister Margaret Amos.
