Ricky “Rick” L. Halls, age 65 of Clearwater, MN died on Wednesday November 13, 2019 in Albert Lea, MN. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday November 19, 2019 at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral and Cremation Service in Litchfield, MN.
Rick Lloyd Halls, the son of Norris and Hazel (Raaum) Halls was born on December 4, 1953 in Starbuck, MN. He was united in marriage to Betty Jo Durken in October, 1999. Throughout his life Rick lived in Glenwood, Spring Lake Park, Princeton and Clearwater. Starting at a young age, Rick found his love for the road and trucks. He drove a variety of heavy trucks, before becoming the owner and operator of Tricky’s Express in the 1980’s. So began his over-the-road career for years to come.
Rick’s passions included his long Harley trips through mountains and every back road he could find, and he loved driving fast in his new shiny Camaro that he always dreamed of owning. Rick enjoyed the time he spent in his shop at home, where he frequently watched NASCAR and wrestling. He and Betty Jo challenged themselves to raising buffalo, which to this day he still talked about “Max” the bull.
Rick is survived by his wife Betty Jo of Clearwater, MN; children Jason (Malisa) Halls of North Branch, MN and Tianna (Mike) Vawracz of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren Isabella, Layla, Aidan, Owen, M.J. and Myla.
He was preceded in death by his parents Norris and Hazel.
