Ricky A. Maurer

Ricky A. Maurer, age 62 of Litchfield, MN, died on Monday February 13, 2023 at University of Minnesota Fairview Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday February 18, 2023 at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield,  MN.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday February 17, 2023 at Johnson Hagglund Funeral and Cremation and will continue one hour prior to the service at church.

Ricky Allan Maurer, the son of Lawrence and Darlene (Richards) Maurer was born in St. Cloud, MN on January 1, 1961.  He grew up in Mora, Kimball and later moved to Litchfield, where he received his education.  Ricky was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN and united in marriage to Deborah Griffin at First Lutheran Church on June 27, 1998.  He was a member of First Lutheran Church.  He worked at Mies Auto Salvage and also was a cook in food service for many years.  Ricky later worked for Towmaster and as a finisher for Felling Trailers.  Ricky was a known ladies man and knew how to make the girls smile.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, watching car races and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Deb of Litchfield, MN; a son Larry (Crissy) Maurer of Litchfield, MN; grandchildren Kaleb, Ethan and Matthew; parents Lawrence and Darlene; brothers Larry Peterson; sisters Becky (Jeff) Lundin of Litchfield and Denise (Dale) Foss of Paynesville, MN.

He was preceded in death by his brother Craig; and grandparents Irwin and Mary Richards and Edward and Alma Maurer.
