Ricky Alama, age 68 of Litchfield, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. A memorial service for Ricky will be held at Ostmark Lutheran Church on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 1:00PM. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 4-7PM at Johnson Hagglund Funeral Home. The service will be livestreamed at 1:00 PM central time zone at www.johnsonhagglund.com

Ricky Glenn Alama, son of Richard and Gayle was born May 25, 1955 in Minneapolis, MN.  His mom remarried William Ochu and they relocated to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  Ricky was the oldest of six boys followed by Randy, Perry, Terrance, Leroy and Billy.  He graduated from Northeast High School in Ft. Lauderdale in 1972 before joining the Navy, where he was station in San Diego, CA.  He served as a medical and dental technician.  This is where he met his first wife Patricia Kern; they had two children Stephanie Lynn and Ricky William Alama.  Rick and Pats marriage ended in 1979 and he relocated back to Minnesota where he met his second wife Heidi Rosenow.  They were married on August 15th, 1981 and he gained a step daughter, Holly Rosenow.

Rick graduated from Hutchinson Vo-Tech with a degree in engineering and Drawing Design and Drafting.  He worked for many years as an engineer for HTI in Hutchinson, MN.   He was also a craftsman, he had a small business called Simply Cedar where he crafted bird houses, bird feeders, mailboxes and many other beautiful cedar crafts.

Rick enjoyed taking Ricky and Holly to craft shows.  His hobbies included fishing, gardening and home improvement projects.  He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren  from Holly,  Eli and Maya.  He was involved in the Special Olympics for several years, where he was known as “Coach Rick”.

Rick is survived by his daughter Stephanie Lynn “Alama” Goldsmith of Dunnellon, Florida, step-daughter Holly Rosenow of Litchfield, MN; grandchildren Elija Rosenow of Maricopa, AZ and Maya Lundquist (Gunner Manuel) of Litchfield, MN; step-father William Ochu of Fort McCoy, Florida; brothers Randy Alama of Florida, Perry (Michelle) Alama of Tennessee, and Terrance, LeeRoy and Billy Ochu of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Heidi; his son Ricky; and his loyal companion Gus.
