Ray E. Ulrich, age 41, of Cosmos, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, August 28, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Family and friends may gather from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the church. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
Ray Ernest Ulrich, son of Jack and Pat (Sorenson) Ulrich, was born on December 3, 1975, in Montevideo. Growing up in Litchfield, he participated in hockey and football and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1994. Following high school he attended Willmar Vo Tech pursuing carpentry. He worked various jobs involving carpentry in the Litchfield area. Subsequently, he was employed by Kemps for 21 years working as a line dragger. He was married to Heather Niewind and together they had two children, Breman and Hailey. His hobbies included computers and cars, especially muscle cars and drag racing.
He is survived by his children, Breman Ulrich of Litchfield and Hailey Ulrich of Canby; parents, Jack and Pat Ulrich of Litchfield; siblings Wade Siegel of Litchfield, Peggy (and Steve) Eklund of Menahga, Corey Siegel of Sebeka, Jackie (and Scott) Bultman of Grand Rapids, MI, Rebecca (and Steve) Bendickson of Terre Haute, IN, Susan (and Tom) Olson of Pelican Rapids. He is also survived by his former wife Jodi Braun; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Ida Ulrich, Harold and Alice Sorenson.
