Quantrell, A. Stevens, age 87, of Litchfield, MN, entered eternity on Friday, 11/11/11, Veterans Day, at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield, MN. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at the Litchfield Christian Church with Pastor Mike Zylstra officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:30 to 3:00 PM prior to the service at church. Interment will be held at Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Quantrell Anthony Stevens, the son of Harold and Naomi (Nystrom) Stevens was born on February 29, 1924, south of Lake Stella, Ellsworth Township, MN. He received his education at country school. At the age of 24 he went into the Army, leaving from Fort Orde, CA he served in the Philippines. After an honorable discharge he purchased his farm from his uncle and aunt. On September 19, 1948 he married Helen Schmidt at the Church of Christ in Litchfield, MN. They were married 43 years and to this union they were blessed with two daughters. Together, Quantrell and Helen remained on the same farm until death. He was a member and served on the board of the Litchfield Christian Church. Quantrell enjoyed restoring old tractors. He was a member of the Forest City Threshers and enjoyed driving his tractors in the Forest City parade. He was also an employee of the Nelson Pumpkin Farm. Woodworking was a talent that Quantrell had. He made various wood projects, with wooded toys being his specialty. He looked forward to his regular shopping day on Thursday, with stopping at SwanA�A�A½s CafA�A�A½ afterwards for lunch. He is survived by his daughters; Diane (and Don) Dollerschell of Litchfield, MN and Beverly (and Ron) Brown of Litchfield, MN; grandchildren, Bridget, Jeremiah (and Laura), Marcus (and Jenn), Holly (and special friend Matt), Mark (and fiancA�A�A½ Taefe), Tracy (and special friend Andy); 2 great grandchildren Emersyn and Ethan; sisters-in-law, nieces, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen; parents, Harold and Naomi; half sister Minnie Belle Weberg and one infant grandson.Previous Events
