Phyllis A. Turck

Phyllis Ann Turck the daughter of Lilliard and Hulda (Baumgart) Nething, was born on September 6, 1923, in Luck, Wisconsin. She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Frederic, Wisconsin and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. She and her family lived in several different places while she was growing up, finally settling on a farm north of Darwin, MN, where she lived until she graduated from Litchfield High School, Class of 1941. On January 14, 1944, she married Lloyd Turck. Together they made a life for themselves and their children on the Turck family farm north of Litchfield, where she continued to live after Lloyd's death in 2007. Even with health issues in her later years, her greatest wish was to be able to stay on the family farm, where she'd lived for 68 years, close to her youngest son, James and his family. Her wish was granted. She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, serving in the Ladies Aid and choir; and participated in the Farmer's Union during Lloyd's and her farming years. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, sewing, knitting, quilting and attending Bible Study. She is survived by her children, Barbara (and Darwin) Muchow of Gaylord, MN, Gary (and Kerry) Turck of Roy, Utah, Carol (and Randy) Werner of Litchfield and James (and Lisa) Turck of Litchfield; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brothers David (and Mary Ann) Nething, Dean Nething and Edward (and Tracy) Nething; sisters, Beverly Nething, Janice Grimsgard, Gloria Nething, Judy Hedrick and Sophie (and Steve) Miller; sisters-in-law, Mary Nething and Lorayne Erickson; brother-in-law Elmer Wieker and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
