Phyllis Alvina McCormick

Phyllis A. McCormick, age 81, of Litchfield died on Monday, May 27, 2013, at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Phyllis Alvina McCormick, the daughter of Stanley and Olga (Esplund) Anderson, was born on July 31, 1931, in Ormsby, Minnesota. She grew up and attended school in Litchfield. Phyllis remained at home for a time to take care of her mother. On October 1, 1949, she was united in marriage to Patrick McCormick at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield. She was a devoted home maker and enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and taking care of her family. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed baby sitting and entertaining guests. She is survived by her children, Anita Kay (Gary) Beckstrand of St. Francis, Charlene (Gil) Gilchrist of Cold Spring and Gretchen (Steve) Sperry of Maple Grove, foster son Jim Esplund, seven grandchildren: Holly (Shaul), Heidi (Lonnie), Chadd (Jocelyn), Ben (Roxanne), Dan (Temika), Tara (Ryan) and Briana (Blake), eight great grandchildren: Nehemiah, Shekinah, Jordyn, Sydney, Madelyn, Patrick, Amelia and Kiala. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Patrick, son Todd sister Delores and brother Delayne.
