Paul E. Urdahl, age 79, of Litchfield, MN died on Monday, February 17, 2014, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 21, 2014 at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home, Litchfield, MN. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Friday service at the church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Paul Emerson Urdahl, the son of Silas and Fern (Isaacson) Urdahl, was born on October 27, 1934 in Litchfield, MN. He grew up on a farm south of Litchfield, and attended country school and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1952. He was baptized on December 19, 1934 and confirmed May 9, 1948. Paul entered the US Army on November 17, 1953, where he served during the Korean War as a Corporal in the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii and Korea. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Nelson in Litchfield, MN on May 17, 1958. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Kim & Scott. He was united in marriage to Wanda Mausehund on October 9, 2010. Paul worked as carpenter at Ideal Lumber and in Litchfield for over 50 years. He was an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church where he was involved in the Men's Club, on the Church Council and part of the Building Committee during the Sunday School Addition. He enjoyed hunting, going on fishing trips with friends at Bowstring, MN, raising pheasants and ducks; making things for people in his workshop; giving rides to his grandchildren on his 4 wheeler; making homemade wine; planting a garden and trying new vegetables, having coffee at McDonalds in the morning, driving around the country roads to see if there were any pheasants; and going on cruises; to Alaska, the Panama Canal and the Caribbean. He is survived by his wife Wanda Urdahl of Litchfield, MN; children Kimberly Urdahl of Switzerland and Scott (and Lisa) Urdahl of Darwin, MN; Granddaughter, Katey Urdahl of Buffalo, MN; step son Ryan (and Lori) Mausehund; step grandchildren Tyler Mausehund, Olivia Mausehund and Sophie Mausehund all of Hillsborough, CA; step daughter Christine (and Marc) Sorge; step grandchildren, Morgan Sorge and Derek Sorge of Marathon, WI; brothers, Richard Urdahl of Litchfield, MN and Carlton Urdahl of Litchfield, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents Silas and Fern; wife Bonnie (in 2003); and brother Loren.
