Paul E. Lee

Paul E. Lee, age 92, of Litchfield, MN, died on Monday, December 8, 2014 at the Ecumen Emmanual Home in Litchfield. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Beckville Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 PM on Friday at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held at the Beckville Lutheran Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Paul Edwin Lee, the son of Frank and Lillie (Nygren) Lee, was born on May 24, 1922 in Greenleaf Township in Meeker County. He was baptized on June 21, 1922 and confirmed on November 15, 1936 at Beckville Lutheran Church. He graduated from Litchfield in 1940. After high school he worked as a welder in the twin cities and served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946. He worked in a ship yard and as a farm hand. He was united in marriage to Alphia Mae Larson on August 18, 1951 at the First Lutheran Church in Grove City. Paul bought a farm in 1951 and retired in 1988. He moved to Star Lake and later to Litchfield in 2005. He was a member of Beckville Lutheran Church where he active in the church council for 17 years and the treasurer for many years. He also served on the District 45 School Board. He enjoyed reading library books, playing softball and throwing horseshoes. He is survived by his children Rhonda (George) Zombory, Jeffrey (Laurie) Lee and Kevin (Wanda) Lee all of Florida; 6 grandchildren; sister Millie Witte of Litchfield, MN; and special friend Lorraine Bipes.
