Paul David Charles Holle, age 47, of Wheaton formerly of Litchfield, died Friday at the U of M Hospital in Minneapolis after complications following an open heart surgery. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 Am on Thursday, September 18, at Cornerstone Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Wednesday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the First Baptist Cemetery in Grove City.
Paul was born April 7, 1961 in Litchfield, MN, to Doug and Ellen Jane (Lounsbury) Holle. Paul grew up on the family farm outside of Grove City. He graduated from Litchfield High School in 1979. With God in his heart from an early age and as inspiration, he continued his education at Bethel University where he graduated in 1984, and completed his education at Bethel Seminary with a Masters Degree in 1988. Paul married Dawn Herrick on June 11, 1983. And from this union three children were born: David 20, Jacob 17, and Erin 15, all residing in Litchfield. Paul served pastorates in several rural communities throughout Minnesota. Including Dalbo, Benson, Beardsley, and Browns Valley. He also served as chaplain at North Memorial and Regions Hospitals and Augustana Homes in Litchfield. Paul received a heart transplant on January 15, 1986 when he was 24 years of age at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Paul married Angela Cannon on June 21, 2003 in Browns Valley, MN and later moved to Wheaton were he lived with Angela and her two sons. Paul retired from full time pastoring in 2004 due to growing health concerns. Paul enjoyed deer hunting with his boys, target shooting, reading, Sunday group and hanging out with Angela, family, & friends. He also had a love of Alaska. He traveled there several times and most recently celebrated his 4th anniversary with Angela on top of Mount Alyeska.
Paul is survived by his wife Angela; children David, Jacob, & Erin Holle of Litchfield; newborn baby daughter Emma Claire Cannon-Holle of Wheaton; two step children Alex & Dillon also of Wheaton; father Doug Holle of Grove City; special aunt JoAnn (Jinny) also of Grove City; four sisters Candy (John) Miller of Wasilla, Alaska, Debbie (Jack) Brown of Kasilof, Alaska, Ann (Bruce) Dibb of Blaine, and Janelle (Joe) Griffiths of Delano; two brothers Richard (Judy) Holle of Litchfield and Joe Holle of Grove City. He is survived by countless numbers of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Ellen Jane Holle and his grandparents.
Family and friends are grateful to God for the miracle of Paul’s life and the gift of the past 22 1/2 years.
