Patricia Ann Riches

Patricia ""Pat"" A. Riches, age 87, of Litchfield, MN, died on Monday February 27, 2012 at Ecumen Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 2, 2012 at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield, MN with Father Joseph Steinbeisser celebrating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Patricia ""Pat"" Ann Riches, the daughter of Thomas and Dorothy (Zimmer) Engles, was born on October 14, 1924 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She received her education at Auburn High School, graduating in 1942. Pat continued her education at Loretto Heights College in Denver. She was united in marriage to Alvin Riches in Auburn, Nebraska on September 6, 1952. They made their home in Auburn where she was active in her church and volunteered at the Catholic school. They moved to Litchfield, MN in 1977. Pat enjoyed her job as the front desk receptionist at the Scottwood Inn for many years. She was a member of the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield. Her biggest joy was raising her family; her girls were her life. Pat enjoyed photos and spending time with her family. Pat is survived by her children, Mary Riches of St. Paul, MN, Ann (and Dave) Peters of Oakdale, MN, Christine (and Kevin) Davis of Colorado Springs, CO, Susan Riches (and David Wendel) of Hilliard, OH, Katie (and Wayne) Lee of Litchfield, MN and Terri Riches of Dallas, TX; 17 grandchildren, Emily Hovind, Jacob Hovind, Becky Peters, Katie Peters, Dan Peters, Matthew Davis, Dr. Andrew Davis, Anna Kelly, Claire Davis, Sarah Davis, Christopher Wendel, Rebekah Kilpatrick, Amber Lee, Nicholas Lee, Michael Lee, Megan Raleigh and Mary Abram; and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Dorothy Engles; husband Alvin; infant son Timmy; brothers, Joe Engles and Dick Engles; and sister Mary Engles.
