Norbert Paul Lohse

Norbert Paul Lohse, age 82, of Litchfield, passed away peacefully April 26, 2014. Loving husband, father and friend. Preceded in death by parents and on brother. Survived by his wife Jeanette of 62 years, sons, David (Lorie) and Ricky (Michelle), daughters, Susan (Brian) and Pamela (Scott), 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral service to be held at 2:00 PM , Monday, May 5, 2014 with visitation starting at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Norbert Paul Lohse was born on October 16, 1931 to Edward and Meta Lohse of Litchfield, MN. He grew up in rural Litchfield on his parents farm and attended Litchfield High School. When he was just 16 years old, he quit high school and moved to Minneapolis to work with his Uncle John. Also around the same time, he met Jeanette Haag at the Eden Valley Roller Rink. It was love at first sight. They married on March 15, 1952. Norb and Jeanette had four children and lived in Litchfield for ten years. He drove over the road for ten years before moving to Delano, MN. For thirty-five years, he owned and operated Norb Lohse Trucking. After retiring, Norb and Jeanette moved back to Litchfield. Norb worked part time for Napa Auto Parts up until the age of 80 when he decided to retire permanently. Norb loved life. He was always there to lend a hand if you needed it. He loved to fish, play cards, travel and watch classic western TV shows or movies. He loved spending time with his family, friends and relatives. Norb was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. We will all miss his sweet smile and genuine laugh, his kind and gentle spirit. He was one-of-a-kind. Heaven has gained an angel. Norb is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jeanette, daughter Susan (Brian) Anderson, son David (Lorie), son Ricky (Michelle) and daughter Pamela Lohse (Scott). Grandchildren, Jamison, Joshua, Jeremiah, Jillian and Jordan Anderson, Benjamin, Breann, Nicole and Jessica Lohse. Great-grandchildren Isabel, Isaac, Ilijah, Alexander, AnaMae, Andre, Ethan, Avery, Kyla-Jane, Reevyn and Aiden. Also survived by brothers Edward (Lola), Ronald (Darlene), James (Rita) and sister Betty Lohse.
