Nolan Bickel, aged 58, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025, due to complications from his battle with cancer. He was born on July 27th, 1966, in Bismarck, North Dakota to Delmer Frederick Bickel and Helen Opp. Nolan was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Glen Ullin, North Dakota, where he was baptized in August of 1966 and confirmed in April of 1981. Nolan graduated high school in 1985 from Glen Ullin, North Dakota. Following graduation, he joined the Army and served for six years. During his service, Nolan resided in El Paso, Texas before moving to Litchfield, Minnesota, where he met Ellen, the love of his life, in 2017. The couple married in 2018 in Litchfield, Minnesota.
Nolan and Ellen cherished spending time with friends, riding motorcycles, traveling, and being with their pets and family. Nolan had a passion for driving semi-trucks and knew early on that it was his calling. He cared deeply for people, including the members of his care team at his infusion center, where he inspired hope in fellow patients and staff alike.
Nolan is survived by his wife Ellen and his four stepchildren: Kody Klopfleisch, Frances Klopfleisch (special friend Russell Kroehler), Constance Klopfleisch (special friend Zach Speiser), and Melissa Deno; his mother Helen Bickel; his sister Nancy (Tadd) Huber; niece Rhamee and nephews Zane and TJ Huber. He is predeceased by his father, Delmer Frederick Bickel.
Nolan's celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, at the Captains Club in Litchfield, Minnesota from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
