Myrwin W. Larson

Myrwin W. Larson, age 90, of Grove City, MN, died on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Cedar Crest Estates in Cosmos, MN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City, MN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday. Interment will be in First Lutheran Cemetery, Grove City, MN. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Myrwin Wallace Larson, the son of George and Esther (Kronbeck) Larson, was born on the family farm in Swede Grove Township, Meeker County, MN on June 6, 1926. He graduated from Grove City High School in 1944 and entered the US Army, where he served in the Occupation of Japan during WWII. He continued his education at the University of Minnesota Agricultural School in St. Paul and began farming in rural Grove City, where he was a lifelong resident. On August 19, 1950, he was united in marriage to Jane Werner at the First Lutheran Church in Dassel, MN. Myrwin enjoyed farming as both a career and hobby. He cultivated the fields with crops, produced pigs, chickens, cattle, milked dairy cows, tended to the family garden, raised raspberries and cut, split and burnt wood. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City, formerly First Lutheran Church, where he was a chair of the Deacons and Trustees. He was active with United Charities, the Red Cross, PTA, and a member of the Cenex Board and Creamery Board. Myrwin enjoyed ice skating and ice fishing, hunting and spending time with family. Myrwin is survived by his children Diane (Warner Luoma) Teigland of Bertha, MN, Bryan (Linda) Larson of Litchfield, MN, Galen (Chris) Larson of Grove City, MN and Christine (Daniel) Schneider of Willmar, MN; 6 grandchildren Andrew (Nicole McDonald) Larson, Susan (Jason) Karnitz, Luke (Erika) Teigland, Leif (Brittney) Teigland, Charles (Krista) Schneider and Grant Schneider; 16 great grandchildren; brother Burton (Carole) Larson of Grove City, MN; sister Margaret (Klynn) Cole of Great Falls, MT; and many nieces and nephews.
