Myra A. Putzier, age 82, died on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at the Bethany Home in Litchfield, MN. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Litchfield, MN with Roger Klinghagen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery.
Myra Alice Putzier, the daughter of William and Swanie (Schlender) Otto, was born on August 5, 1927 in Hutchinson, MN. She grew up on a farm near Stewart in Renville county and attended a rural school through the eighth grade. After graduating from the Hutchinson High School in 1945, and Teacher Training Department in 1946, she taught in a rural school in Lakeside for one year preceding and one year following her marriage. On August 16, 1947, Myra was married to Henry F. Putzier at the Trinity Evangelical Church in rural Hutchinson. They lived on a farm near Litchfield until his death on March 27, 1989. She moved to Litchfield in 1990. Myra worked as a Teacher’s Aid at Ripley School and as a Nurse’s Aid at the Litchfield Hospital. She was a member of the Greenleaf Goodwill Club, a charter member of the Litchfield Lioness Club, Trinity Episcopal Church, ECW, Altar Guild and Eastern Star.
Myra is survived by her children; Kathy Putzier of Minneapolis, Jane Putzier of St. Louis Park, Joan (and Merle) Meece of Perham, three grandsons; Landon Evan and Trevor Meece, one granddaughter; Esther Putzier and brothers-in-law Edward Putzier of Colorado and Robert Putzier (and Lavaune) Putzier of Litchfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry, son Bill and brother-in-law Sidney Putzier.
