Monica was born January 8, 1963 to Roger and Janice (Almand) Malmquist of Grove City. She attended schools in Grove City. She was baptized at the Baptist Church in Grove City. She was a lifer in the 4-H club Acton Buzzers. Monica attended Willmar Junior College and became a certified medical assistant. She worked in a Mankato Clinic and then went to the cities and worked at Park Nicollet. In 1989, Monica met Brent Letterman and they got married October 14, 1989. Two sons were born Michael and Malakhi. They lived in Maple Grove where Monica was a Tupperware lady and worked in urgent care. Monica loved to sing. In high school she was sent to North Dakota to sing in a statewide choir under the direction of a Professor of Music from Texas. She started a bowling league at her sons' school and coached for many years. They went to the state tournament a few times. Monica was a great cook always trying new recipes and entertaining family and friends. She had her own catering business. Her cupboards were also filled with snack foods and eager hands were always in there. She sewed a lot, making seven zuba sets for all the young people in her family one year. Her love for flowers showed in her gardening. Her favorite vacation spot was Duluth and surrounding areas. She was planning that for her next trip. Monica enjoyed the state fair and attended almost every day. It was there that she got gifts for everyone in the family and thoroughly enjoyed the looks on everyone's faces at Christmas. Monica loved her Lord and was proud of her faith. Never faltering in her beliefs, that is how she brought up her sons. Singing in church was her favorite place, as her voice just filled the room. We are going to miss this special voice. When Monica was hospitalized the comments from personnel was ""What a beautiful person. She radiates love and her faith."" She just glowed and would tell everyone. ""I will be a miracle, I will fight this and win."" But she lost her fight and we lost a very beautiful special person. But, when she left us she had a smile on her face. We felt she was saying ""I am in no more pain I am free"".
She is survived by her two sons, Michael and Malakhi of Coon Rapids, her parents Roger and Janice Malmquist of Grove City, sisters Julie (Tim) Hoyt of Tucson, AZ and Kari (Dennis) Fischer of Grove City, nephews Brandon and Dustin Fischer of Grove City, nieces Jamie (Bryant) Johnson of Hutchinson, Hayley Dittman of Plymouth, and Lindsay Dittman of San Tan Valley AZ. She was preceded in death by an infant sister Lynn in 1958, husband Brent in 2000, and sister Jodi Malmquist in 2002. Previous Events
