Milton ""Bud"" L. Rokala

Milton L. ""Bud"" Rokala, age 80, of Litchfield, MN died on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at the Ecumen Emmanuel Home in Litchfield. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the First Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Milton Lloyd Rokala, the son of Levi and Ina (Hasti) Rokala, was born on January 15, 1935 in Kingston, MN. Milton graduated from Dassel High School in 1953. He entered the Army and served on the same base in Germany as Elvis Presley. When he was discharged from the Army, Milton lived and worked in Montana for a time before moving to Minneapolis. He was united in marriage to Lucy Pemberton in Cokato, MN. Milton and Lucy moved to Minneapolis, where they lived for a few years, before returning to Kingston, MN. In 2009, Milton was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and moved to Litchfield in 2011. Bud was a Jack-of-all-trades who enjoyed fixing and tinkering. Throughout his life he repaired adding machines, built Silos, was a welder and worked in manufacturing, but his heart was in farming and agriculture. He was a simple man with a great sense of humor who was content with what he had. He loved spending time with his family, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed reading, gardening, wood carving and visiting. He is survived by his wife Lucy of Litchfield, MN; children Andrew Rokala of Wichita, KS, Eric (Shelly) Rokala of Buffalo, MN and Jenny Lundin of Litchfield, MN; grandchildren Jack Rokala, Nicholas Lundin, Tia Lundin, Tessa Lundin and Katey Urdahl; brothers and sisters John (Maxine) Rokala of Kingston, MN, Mary Ann Harkman of Cokato, MN, Audrey (Ronald) Peterson of Arizona, Carl (Beverly) Rokala of Dassel, MN and Margaret (Curt) Mattila of Brainerd, MN; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister Ruth Janckila and brother-in-law Harlan Harkman.
