Mildred A. Witte, age 101, of Litchfield, MN, died on February 4, 2015 at the Ecumen Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, MN. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the Beckville Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday. Interment will be held in the Beckville Lutheran Cemetery. Mildred Anancy Witte, the daughter of Frank and Lillie (Nygren) Lee, was born on November 4, 1913 in Greenleaf Township in Meeker County. She was baptized and confirmed at Beckville Lutheran Church. She received her education at School District 78 and was united in marriage to Wendell Witte on June 22, 1939 in Beckville Lutheran Church. She worked at the Cokato Corn Canning Plant in the fall of the year and at the Litchfield Garment Factory from 1971 to 1987. She also worked with Ruth Fricke and Muriel Larson in catering for several years. Throughout her life Mildred lived in Greenleaf Township, North Kingston and Litchfield. She was an active member of Beckville Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and was very active with the Ladies Aid. She helped with several church events, especially the 4th of July at the Beckville Picnic Grounds. She also served on many boards and some committees at the church. She loved meeting people, sewing, knitting, crocheting, making quilts, doing cross stitch and crossword puzzles, playing cards with family and watching baseball. She is survived by her children Larry Witte of Litchfield, MN and Kenneth (and Linda) Witte of Green Valley, AZ; grandchildren Ryan and Shon; great grandson Michael; brother-in-law Marvin (and Arlene) Witte of Hutchinson, MN; sister-in-law Evelyn Casper of Bloomington, MN; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Wendell; daughter LaVonne; brothers Vincent Lee, George Lee, Paul Lee; sisters Annette Rittgers, Violet Schilling and Alice Lee; sisters-in-law Lorraine, Elaine and Alphie; and brothers-in-law William and Milton.Previous Events
