Mildred Peterson

Mildred L. Peterson, age 91, of Grove City died Friday night, September 5th at the Emmanuel Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Likens Officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield. Mildred Lucille Peterson, the daughter of Ralph and Esther (Nelson) Larson, was born on August 21, 1917 in Harvey Township, Meeker County, Minnesota. She grew up and received her education in Litchfield. On May 12, 1937, she was united in marriage to Arthur Clarence Peterson in Cosmos. Together they farmed in the rural Cosmos and Litchfield area before moving to the Grove City area where they had a dairy farm for 59 years. Mildred had moved to Litchfield and lived in Bethany Home for the past two years. She was baptized and confirmed Lutheran and was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, belonging to the church quilting and circle. Mildred received great enjoyment from being a home maker. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her children; Gale (and Beverly) Peterson and Jannan Dilley both of Grove City, 3 grandchildren; Joel (and Debra) Dilley, Jody (and Larry) Rick, and Troy Peterson, 7 great grandchildren; Michaela, Lilly, Sadie, April, Troy Arthur, Tristan and Ashlyn. She is also survived by her brother; Glenn (and Theresa) Larson of Chaska. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 sisters.
