Milan Leopold Dimond, the son of Milan and Evelyn (Berry) Dimond, was born on August 13, 1948 in Little Falls. He was baptized May 11, 1958 and confirmed on April 7, 1963 at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. He graduated from Litchfield High School and then enlisted in the US Army in 1967. Milan was stationed in Germany and met his first wife Sylvia Glauning and daughter Daniela, who was born in Germany in 1973. When Milan was stationed in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Cathy was born in 1974 and Sabrina in 1977. During his time in the service he was in artillery and worked in the motor pool. He retired from the service in 1988 in Fort Carson, Colorado after serving 20 years, 4 month and 25 days with the rank of Sergeant First Class (E7).
He then transitioned his family back to Litchfield where he drove truck and later worked for Minnesota Rubber. He met Debra and her two daughters Romanda and Amy. They moved to Winnemucca, Nevada where he worked in construction and married Debra Hatfield on September 5, 1996. Milan enjoyed talking about his time in the service, collecting guns, target shooting, reading and he loved to go camping. He also liked sight seeing and watching westerns and Star Trek.
He is survived by his wife Debra Dimond of Litchfield. Children Daniela Dimond of Germany, Cathy (Randy) VanVickle of Sartell, Sabrina Larson of Litchfield, Romanda (Jeffrey) Garry of Buffalo and Amy (James) Karsten of Fergus Falls; 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Milan Dimond, mother and step-father Evelyn and LeRoy Nordin and a brother Charles.
