Michael Kotzer Jr

Michael 'Mike' Kotzer Jr., age 67, of Litchfield, MN, died on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield, MN with Father Joseph Steinbeisser and Father Brian Oestreich concelebrating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday at the church with a 8:00 PM prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service with the KC praying the rosary. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Litchfield, MN. Michael 'Mike' Kotzer Jr., the son of Michael and Mary (Roske) Kotzer was born in St. Anna, MN on September 16, 1944. He grew up and attended school in St. Anna, MN. Mike enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served four years. After his military service he returned to Minnesota and lived in St. Cloud. While living in St. Cloud he managed the McCarthy's Drive-In. He was united in marriage to Sharon Wills on June 18, 1966 in Clear Lake, MN. They made their home in Litchfield, MN and Mike managed McCarthy's Drive-In in Litchfield. He then worked for Land-O-Lakes as Route Manager. Mike became the Streets and Parks Superintendent for the City of Litchfield where he worked until retirement. He was a volunteer driver for the Meeker County Veterans Administration and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities. He also enjoyed trapping, ice fishing, playing cards, taking daily trips to Litchfield Building Center and was known for hitting homeruns while playing softball. He was a member of the Church of St. Philip, the Knights of Columbus, the Litchfield Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mike is survived by his wife, Sharon of Litchfield, MN; children, Michele (and Dave) Eischens of Litchfield, MN, Kimberly Kotzer of Hutchinson, MN, Michael (and Leah) Kotzer of Elk River, MN and Steven (and Amy) Kotzer of Litchfield, MN; 8 grandchildren: Breanna Eischens, Hunter Wills, Madelyn Kotzer, Michael Edward Kotzer, Kaylee Kotzer, Dylan Kotzer, Drew Kotzer, Drake Kotzer; brothers, John (and Linda) Kotzer of Albany, MN and James (and Sue) Kotzer of St. Joe, MN; sisters, Mary Woitalla of Avon, MN, Angie Nierenhausen of St. Cloud, Anna (and Howard) Volkers of Duelm, MN, Joyce Beumer of Waite Park, MN, Helen (and Robert) Zwack of St. Cloud, MN, Susie (and Danny) Hills of Waite Park, MN.
